Phoenix is an artistically driven material science company breaking down old ways and defining a new path, aimed at eliminating the plastic and toxic chemical pollution plaguing the textile industry.

Environmental Commitment

The textile industry has become one of the leading contributors to environmental pollution.

As of today, 65%+ of clothing produced is made from plastic based fabric (the most common being polyester). Plastic clothing offsets tiny microplastic fibers when worn, and releases 500,000 tons of microfibers (equivalent to 50 billion plastic bottles) into the ocean each year, when washed. Plastic material also does not biodegrade.

The apparel supply chain is also dependent on dangerous chemicals, which are commonly used to dye and treat fabric. The chemical waste from these treatments are often dumped into rivers, soil, and water sources, which negatively impact supply chain workers and the surrounding wildlife.

We are committed to only using natural, plant-based fibers and we never use toxic chemicals in our production. We prioritize the health of the planet and people.

Uplifting Artists

We believe art brings meaning to life and inspires people to do great things. For this reason, we have chosen to dedicate our brand to supporting creators. Their incredible stories of passion, dedication, failure and triumph need to be shared with the world, and we have created a platform to tell these inspiring stories through the garments we make.

They say, if you want to go far, go together. That is why we are not only using our platform as a portal for discovery of new artists, but also to support their endeavors. We have created a fund to give a portion of sales to the artists that we partner with to grow their awareness and spread their stories.

Material Innovation

Through the lens of our commitment to the environment, we have rejected the tried and true materials on which the apparel industry is built, and are seeking alternative renewable fabric inputs. We are dedicated to shifting acceptable fabrics away from synthetic materials and conventional cotton, which comprise more than 85% of production today.

This pillar of our business is based on (1) discovering new materials and bringing them to our customers in the form of elevated designs, and (2) focusing on making products that are more widely accessible. We believe doing the right thing for your health and the planet shouldn't hurt your style or your wallet.
